Hiking Through the Woods

I'm back in Israel at last. Suffering from lousy jetlag. Had a great trip though! Here are some more photos from up north:

We were a few days into vacation and people were getting antsy.

Well, except my sister, who was self-sedated with MTV.

So we decided to go for a little walk in the woods. There are all kinds of trails and nature reserves around every coorner.

Mom at the nature reserve.

The roots of an upturned tree.

Some sort of swampy pond.

The sun filters through the leaves rippling and dappling from wavelets in the scum pond.

Mushrooms slowly devouring their host tree. Delicious? Hallucenagenic? Poisonous? There's only one way to find out.

Looks like the bugs got to this tree. Still, it makes for an interesting texture.
